Bhartiya Janta Party or Jan Sangh before that never get
tired of repeating Ram Rajya as an ideal most role model in the matters of governance but what does it mean when a comparison is drawn to what is happening in the State of Uttar Pradesh –no security, no Law and nothing like safety on all fronts. Broad day light repes with rapists most active all around are the order of the day with loot and murders in a spree are awefully rampant. Power cuts are as rampant as cows and buffalows running free in the roads and streets often causing jams and obstacles/ obstacles amidst the roads and the streets. For power cuts there is nothing regulated and this moment the light is there but for the very next moment it is as uncertain as any thing. It’s just a hoax.
Some one in Kolkata said the other day “…democracy consists of a pack of fools” but that appears to be too much of an exaggeration and it is not correct, they are otherwise supposed to be the wise people lured by democracy charms just on their face value and that is how India became a fully autonomous body with a fully democratic reforms. We became a free country without any extraneous intervention as it looked on the surface. Now that we have been a free nation for the last seven decades and aerial view of the overall situation viewed with an unprejudiced mind in a total perspective speaks volumes of an anarchy, chaos, free styled rapes and lootings in the broad day light and a terribly dwindled law and order scenario confronting the people. We have, it is proclaimed, freedom of speech but this can’t go beyond whispers and between you and me failing which the gangsters from the political parties, more so the ruling party, would pounce upon you and ill treat with a hoarse caution that if they go ahead talking ill of the government it would be disastrous for them. The top bosses in the government are quick in showering salary increase and lot of other benefits to their choice circles in different circles measured in terms of their vote bank status. Nothing like any curb on soaring prices, even if sky is the limit they have already gone much beyond that. Total social level has collapsed to a nullity, rather negative and minus. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an ineffectual angel fluttering its wings in vain and the law and order situation of the country stands deteriorated to the level of sinking and even a dozen of him would be incapable of saving the drowning ship.Nothing like any SOS in sight.
Let us talk of ‘bhookh insaan ko Ghaddar bana deti hai’….., the famous lines of Gopal Das ‘Neeraj’, the renowned poet of the modern era to trace the most intensive pangs of miseries certain blocks of people are tortuously undergoing in our country India –they very much include the ones being the families belonging to the deceased employees from State Bank of India ruthlessly denied as they are the benefit of compassion based appointment in the Bank. The sad irony is that it is quite happening under the very nose of the current incumbent-in-charge as the Chairman of the Bank Arundhati Bhattacharya who happens to be a woman, a woman traditionally applauded for her compassion and kindness in the country since ages. Compassion and kindness, it is said, springs up from their very heart.
Provision of such appointments is very much there called compassionate Appointment Scheme. In practical terms such an informal provision dates back to the days when this Bank was known as Bank of Bengal, one of the three Presidency Banks under the then British rule. It’s history and I need no indepth digging to justify my say. As on date the provisions for such appointments do exist as re-endorsed by the Government of India years back but the Bank has opted for a negative twist to the sheer setback to the members of deceased employee’s family and the relative requests for compassion based appointments are outrightly turned down on a printed proforma always kept handy as a cruel ritual. There is none to bother even the least to honestly peruse the merit part of the individual case with the result that the bereaved family members are forced to starve hankering for some source of sustentation.
By and large several of the management wings suffer from a negative propensity of relishing the plight of their subordinates along with their families irrespective of any reason or rhyme. Possibly a massive revolt is the only answer to such a barbarism.

Government of India does boast the GST bill is directed to boost up the economy of the country in a sizeable measure and that it is aimed at helping the tax payers in an ample manner with a considerable relaxation to them. This is welcome by many on a drum beat and equally condemned by many with opposition parties in the forefront. What is this actually is still difficult to envisage.Sponsored by the Government and unconditionally supported by the ruling party BJP and its followers, there are welcome rallies every where to browbeat the morchas organised by the opposition. Salaried class too has a mixed reaction –some say it is pro workforce and there are some who brand it entirely negative as their leaders hold the same view though they have not yet resorted to any agitation which means they are the ones to reconcile with it. Salaried class in the lower strata have a feel that it is advantageous to them. In fact the entire scheme is drawn with relaxation to them in mind obviously the apparent vote bank as they are. Much has yet to come out within next few days and only then it can more lucidly be spelt out.
